Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Requirements
- Maintain daily working logs of each client (i.e): Name, address, phone number, email (if applicable), start time, end time, and description of activities for entire working schedule with each client. Must acquire a signature from each client or legal guardian at the end of each working shift.
- Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing
- Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying
- Helping plan client appointments and organize a schedule
- Organizing with transportation arrangements to appointments
- Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs
- Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities
- Keep the patient safe from health hazards.
- Monitor individuals’ behavior toward themselves and others, and maintain patients’ records of problems and progress.
- Report any instances of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the appropriate authorities so that protective services specialists can investigate the situations if necessary.
- Teach patients tasks that they can ultimately learn to do for themselves.
- Establishing a secure, positive environment that nurtures residents’ needs, self-expression, and goals.
- Delivering individualized training and care for clients in compliance with healthcare professionals’ instructions and other specific guidelines.
- Advancing clients’ decision-making, productivity, and participation in a range of activities.
- Promoting independence in daily activities, such as work, learning, and leisure.
- Facilitate client’s inclusion in the community’s experiences and activities.
- Maintaining knowledge of clients’ requirements.
- Complying with the facility’s policies and procedures.
- Operating Regal Group Home’s vehicles in compliance with company policies and governmental statutes.

Requirements
- Responsible for the safe transit of passengers.
- Need to be able to drive defensively to protect passengers.
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
- Follow a planned route according to a timed schedule.
- Assist passengers with getting in and out of vehicles.
- Obey traffic laws and state / federal regulations.
- Follow procedures to ensure passenger safety.
- Keep passengers informed of possible delays.
- Perform basic maintenance (Check air pressure in tires, ensure working lights, and oil level / temperature).
- Keep vehicle clean and presentable
- Keep written documentation of vehicle mileage from Point A to Point B and submit weekly.
- Keep daily log of passengers being transported (Includes name, date, pick-up time, pick-up location, drop-off time and drop-off location)
